Our vision is a world in which people with power are accountable. It is a world in which resources are used wisely, decisions benefit everyone fairly, and people lead secure lives. We are catalyzing a new generation of active citizens and responsible leaders around the world by supporting change-makers to develop and implement positive ideas for integrity in their communities. By enabling people to generate the knowledge, skills and networks needed for accountability, we unleash positive social and economic change.
We have three mutually-reinforcing objectives: to support a positive movement to build accountability; provide substantive, flexible and long-term support for those leaders who can collectively lead this movement within specific contexts; and support collaboration around accountability and open governance.
1. Values-Shifting Campaigns
Creative campaigns to change beliefs about what behaviors are acceptable in society and support emerging norms. These include Integrity Idol and the Honesty Oscars.
2. Accountability Incubator
An incubator for "accountapreneurs" to help them take advantage of opportunities for accountability and build sustainable, effective coalitions for integrity and open governance.
3. Eco-System Building
Support collaboration around accountability and open governance by developing shared mental models, physical spaces and operational practices.
These efforts ensure that we are well placed to source ideas from the bottom-up across contexts that can inform policy decisions made from the top-down. Across these objectives, we will seek to learn continually about how the process of building accountability works, to inform our own activities and thinking, and those of the field more broadly.
Strengthening the village by making people financial literate and budget literate.
Last week our Accountapreneur Prakash Koirala and his Finlit team organized a "State Offer Program". In that program recently elected ward president shared the insights on how people can participate in ward office's initiative and free services, which ward office can offer to the public.7 months ago
